In Greek mythology, Morpheus (Greek Μορφεύς of μορφη morph, "form") is the god of dreams.
was depicted with wings beating quickly and quietly, letting go flying swiftly to any corner of the Earth. Morpheus was responsible for inducing sleep and dreams of those taking a human appearance to appear in them, especially the form of loved ones (hence the name), allowing the deadly escape for a moment from the machinations of gods.
