early twentieth century, spiritualists attempted to scientifically prove his theories about the intangibles and the occult. The para-psychological phenomenon was fashionable confused with other sciences.
One such pseudoscientific research was done to the highly questionable medium Eva C. (Whose real name was Martha Beraud) by the German psychologist Albert von Schrenck-Notzing in 1912.
There were plenty of photographs to demonstrate the powers of the médium.Ésta was one of many. It appears bright ectoplasmic tissue in her hands which later materialize in the figure of a ghostly entity.
In this and in other cases, thanks to photographs (mostly fake) are persuaded many skeptics in the field.
